Pixie's Picks: The Canadian Muslim.com
[Work It-set taken from the old BM website]
A review of online Islamic shopping experiences and sites, written from the perspective of one stylish Canadian convert/revert. Up for review today? The Canadian Muslim.com, website available here: http://www.thecanadianmuslim.ca/index.html
Pixie: Ok, I love this site's hijabs, and they have a great selection of Islamic merchandise (jilbabs, hijabs, swimwear for Muslimahs, Islamic wedding dresses (albeit with no prices listed)), but I am simply not a fan of their prices. Everything is a bit too high for me, so I only splurge on crazy bright printed hijabs. Their shipping is quick, but the price things makes me give them a six out of ten. Splurge on the hijabs still? It's a yes for me.

Jilbab in Poppies: keep it poppin' winter to spring
WINTER WEAR WORKPLACE SOLUTION: I fell in love with this Oscar de la Renta dress, and this grey Versace croc tote. With poppy-red heels? Gold diamond hoops? The outfit is too pretty not to hint at so I had to have this poppy encrusted jilbab from http://cgi.ebay.ca/Islamic-clothing-Abaya-Jilbab-Thobe-Hijab-Kaftan-Caftan_W0QQitemZ260285535334QQihZ016QQcategoryZ155254QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
for $57.00 USD.

Pixie's Picks: 3Circle Market Ebay Boutique
[outfit set featuring a Three Circle buy taken from a friend's facebook set] Pixie's picks: 3Circle Market Ebay Boutique, a review of the online shopping experience. Site avilable here: http://stores.ebay.ca/3circlemarket
Pixie: I love their selection of coloured house dresses/jilbabs, the prices are low, and my shipping was quick (two weeks or less on average). The sizes tend to fit a bit large, but for the price, and something quick to wear for ladies party or a special occasion that crops up? I do recommend 3Circle for price, selection, and speedy delivery.

Modesty Make-Over: Victoria Beckham
POSH SPICE STYLE STREET WEAR? A MODEST ANSWER?
Bend it like Beckham?---or just like Posh here? Yes, you can do it like a fashionista and still keep your hijab. Just add length and sleeves, and keep the bag, for a more modest option. Victoria Beckham is sporting the trend of bright pink Birkin (everywhere recently), little frilly, ruffled/or tasselled dress, big black celeb sunglasses, diamond bracelet, and pink pumps. I like the look with a jilbab, and to keep it fresh I stack my pumps with fishnets.
Okay, so a jilbab Posh's colour will look like a tube of Pepto Bismol so keep the pink all-over and figure hugging delciousness of this dress for your man (or close girlfriends indoors). Victoria Beckham sports Roland Mouret but you can get the same look for less.Posted by a_woman_called_Palestine at 6:24 PM 0 comments
The Celebrity Abaya
What if I told you I saw Pamela Anderson wearing an abaya? [Relief I am sure] Jennifer Lopez wore hijab, and Gillian Anderson (from the X-files) was spotted on the red carpet wearing a butterfly abaya, so what is to stop celebs, from Nicole Ritchie, Mary-Kate Olsen, Cate Blanchett, Debra Messing, Margarita Missoni, and Angelina Jolie, from modelling more modest wear? Yes, celebs, self-respect is always in style. See girls, there is nothing to stop you from sporting jilbab!

My thoughts on thinking...
I would just like to apologize here for the lack of personal posts. I have no news yet, as to where I am going to end up, so I am just saving shopping lists, and bits of a friend's blog in case she decides to delete it to focuss more on her Islamic education.

Bump Babes-How to Create Height in you Hijab
Have you ever wondered how khaleeji girls are getting the perfectly sculpted tresses under that sheila to make it fall so glam and high fashion... It has nothing to do with tresses like these (at least not for day wear)---and everything to do with clips like these (though Gulf women like us are famous for our incredibly healthy and long hair):Posted by a_woman_called_Palestine at 11:16 AM 0 comments

and hot pink...
and there was baby pink...
There were even pink abayas and caftans and talk of pink niqabs!!! All in all it was, I could suppose, a wild success.
